ATOF — Arduino-Based Trigger & Clock Generator
An open-firmware trigger machine for Eurorack.
Six trigger outputs, two CV/trigger inputs, and an atmega nano core you're free to reprogram — run it stock as a clock and random-trigger generator, or flash your own firmware to make it something else entirely.
ATOF ships with fully open firmware. Write your own, flash it, and if you want to share it, send it to mutantmodular[a]gmail[.]com — we'll add it to a public repository for other ATOF owners. One module, as many behaviors as the community builds for it.
One output can also be hardware-enabled as a PWM out, giving you audio, envelope, or LFO signals alongside the triggers — not just a one-trick trigger box.
Stock firmware: Clocked Random Trigger
Trigger Out 1 sets the clock rate
Trigger Outs 2–6 fire randomized triggers synced to that clock
Knob fully clockwise → external clock mode (In 1 becomes the clock input)
Knob anywhere else → internal clock mode (In 1 becomes a hold input via CV/trigger)
Features:
-6 trigger outputs (1 switchable to PWM, 5 fixed trigger)
-2 CV/trigger inputs
-1 control knob, 1 push button, 2 status LEDs
Specs:
-3U Eurorack, 4HP, aluminum panel
-Power draw: 26mA @ +12V / 0mA @ -12V
